Ontario Hockey Association Names NHL Alumnus Greg Devorski as New Director of Officiating

Greg Devorski

CAMBRIDGE, ON – The Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) is pleased to announce the appointment of retired National Hockey League (NHL) linesman Greg Devorski as the organization’s new Director of Officiating. Operating out of the OHA headquarters in Cambridge, Ontario, Devorski steps into the role to succeed outgoing Director Kevin Pollock.

Devorski brings an elite wealth of experience to the OHA, having built a legendary 28-season career in the NHL where he officiated 1,759 regular-season games and 227 playoff matchups, including assignments to four Stanley Cup Finals and the 2014 Winter Olympics.

In his new capacity, Devorski will report directly to OHA Executive Director Mark Tuck. He will oversee the recruitment, retention, education, and strategic promotion of the OHA officiating staff, ensuring structural development paths align across all OHA junior and senior leagues.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Greg to the Ontario Hockey Association family,” said Mark Tuck, OHA Executive Director. “Greg’s remarkable tenure at the highest echelon of professional hockey, combined with his deep roots in Ontario’s hockey community, makes him the perfect leader to drive our officiating program forward. His experience will be invaluable as we continue to refine our recruitment, retention, and training strategies to support our officials and elevate the game across all our leagues.”

About the Position

As the Director of Officiating, Devorski will manage the formation and daily operations of the OHA officiating body. His core accountabilities will include designing and updating regulations within the Horizon assignment system, maintaining fiscal budget responsibility, and ensuring strict on- and off-ice compliance and safety checks across the association.

“I am incredibly honored to join the OHA and give back to the grassroots systems that helped shape my own career,” said Greg Devorski. “Officiating is vital to the integrity and safety of the game. I look forward to working closely with Mark, the senior management team, and our talented staff to build an inclusive environment focused on strong accountability, robust rule education, and clear development pathways for the next generation of officials.”

Devorski also noted that his deep passion for officiating is a family legacy, heavily inspired by his father, Bill Devorski. Bill dedicated 35 years to the ice as a respected official and spent over 15 years guiding the next generation as a supervisor. “My father is a massive reason why all of this was made possible for me,” Devorski added. “His dedication to the game and to the development of officials set the standard I strive to bring to the OHA.”

Greg will begin his role with the OHA on July 8, 2026.
