This OHF Officiating Award recognizes individuals actively involved in the officiating program for their contribution to the game, for their officiating skills and for what they put back into amateur hockey within the Branch
CAMBRIDGE, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) Is proud to announce that Joe Park has won the OHF Officiating Award for 2024-2025 season.
Joe has devoted his life both to the sport of hockey and to the well-being of his community, and is a deserving candidate for this recognition.
Joe began his officiating career with the OMHA in 1985. Over the years, he advanced from his early role as a linesman to attaining his Level 6 certification in 2005, subsequently becoming a highly respected OMHA Supervisor in Barrie. His officiating career has brought him to the highest levels of competition, including numerous playoff assignments and Team Canada events, where his composed demeanor and unwavering commitment to fairness have proven invaluable.
Now marking 35 years of dedicated service with the OHA, Joe continues to give back to the game he has long cherished. In addition to his own achievements on the ice, he has mentored, coached, and supported countless officials, shaping the next generation through his leadership, patience, and steadfast pursuit of excellence.
Joe’s dedication extends well beyond the rink. As a Toronto Police Constable, he has worked tirelessly within Neighborhood Community Offices—particularly in the Jane and Finch community—to help guide young people toward positive opportunities. His dual commitment to hockey and public service exemplifies his character: selfless, dependable, and motivated by a genuine determination to improve the lives of others.

About the Ontario Hockey Association
The Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) was founded on November 27, 1890, and is the governing body for the majority of Junior and Senior hockey in the Province of Ontario. It is comprised of three Junior hockey leagues and two Senior hockey leagues: Junior A – Ontario Junior Hockey League; Junior B – Greater Ontario Hockey League; Junior C – Provincial Junior Hockey League, Senior –Allan Cup Hockey (AAA) and Ontario Elite Hockey League (AA). For the 2025-2026 season, these five leagues encompass 132 teams. 3100 players, and about 6,000 games each hockey season. The majority of our players are 16 to 21 years of age.
The objectives of the OHA are to foster and encourage the sport of amateur hockey, to conduct competition in the various categories established, to determine teams for entry into the inter-branch competitions that may be provided by Hockey Canada, and to provide for the affiliation of other hockey organizations.
The OHA provides administrative resources, coordinates programs, services and events for hockey participants and provides support to various Development Programs for coaches, officials, trainers and players, Safety and Risk Management Issues and offers resources for Harassment and Abuse education.
