Non-Sanctioned Games Policy: Registered Participant Reinstatement

In advance of spring player evaluations, the OHF wishes to clarify re-instatement procedures for all individuals who participated in a Non-Sanctioned Game after the Cut-Off Date and was subsequently deemed ineligible for the remainder of the 2023-24 season

While the Non-Sanctioned Games Policy (3.2.1) establishes that individuals may seek reinstatement of privileges after the end of that season, the OHF and its Members do not administer a formal reinstatement process. Therefore, all individuals deemed ineligible by the Non-Sanctioned Games Policy are automatically reinstated the immediately following season without need to make a reinstatement application.

The early reinstatement process referenced in section 3.2.3 requires a validation that returning participants are not displacing other participants that made a full commitment to Hockey Canada programming. With each new season new rosters are formed, hence reinstatement is automatically granted at the conclusion of one season and the commencement of the subsequent.

The Ontario Hockey Federation respects the right of every individual to choose between participating in a Hockey Canada sanctioned Game or a Non-Sanctioned Game at the beginning of each hockey season. Every individual who makes the choice to Participate in a Non-Sanctioned Game, however, must understand the ramifications of that choice. Please refer to the Non-Sanctioned Game Policy for more information.
